movement & wellbeing
Our staff have observed that movement and wellbeing are closely connected. Young children learn through their bodies first — by climbing, balancing, digging, carrying, dancing, stretching and exploring the world around them.
Across our outdoor spaces, children are encouraged to move freely, build confidence and develop physical skills through play and discovery. Whether building dens, watering plants, balancing on logs or joining in with action songs and games, we create opportunities for children to become strong, capable and confident in their own bodies.
Alongside active play, we place great importance on emotional wellbeing. Our nurturing approach helps children feel safe, supported and understood, with practitioners helping children recognise feelings, regulate emotions and develop positive relationships with others.
We also draw on gentle wellbeing techniques inspired by our Stresses to Smiles training, supporting children through calming routines, movement, rhythm, connection and relaxation as part of everyday nursery life.
By combining outdoor exploration, physical development and emotional wellbeing, we aim to help children grow not only in confidence and independence, but in happiness too.
